Driveway Fit
Which Dumpster Fits in Your Driveway?
Our 11, 15, and 20 yard dumpsters are all 12 feet long and 8 feet wide — identical footprints. Stepping up from the 15 to the 20 costs you nothing in driveway space. It is 1 foot taller, and that is the only difference where your driveway is concerned.
The 30 yard is 20 feet long and needs roughly 60 to 65 feet of straight clearance to unload. That does not fit the tighter driveways and streets common in Brookside, Westport, Waldo, and other older Kansas City neighborhoods — call before ordering the big one in those areas. Questions to Ask Before Renting a Dumpster
Two minutes of thinking here saves money later.
- What kind of material am I actually throwing away?
- How much debris will the project realistically generate — and then how much more than that?
- Is any of it unusually heavy — concrete, dirt, brick, or shingles?
- Am I getting rid of furniture or appliances?
- Is this one room, or will it spread?
- Will more debris turn up once I start? It usually does.
When you are between two sizes, take the larger one. The step from the 15 yard to the 20 is only $30, and the 30 yard costs less than two 20 yard hauls. In fifteen years nobody has told us their dumpster was too big.
