Prohibited items carry an additional charge of $75 per ton, and loads are photographed at the dump.
Tires — accepted for a small fee
$15 per tire, disclosed when you order, paid in advance and placed on top rather than buried. Undisclosed tires are still charged. See tire disposal.
Paint and chemicals
Kansas City’s household hazardous waste facility takes these at 4707 Deramus Ave. Dried-out, fully hardened paint cans are usually fine in the dumpster — wet ones are not.
Heavy material
Old concrete, pavers, brick or a broken-up garage floor need a concrete dumpster, not a standard roll-off.

What size dumpster do I need for a garage cleanout?
The 20 yard at $395. It is the size we deliver most often for garages and it handles a full two-car garage in a single haul. If the garage is coming out along with a basement, attic or shed, take the 30 yard at $475 — it is cheaper than two 20 yard hauls. The 15 yard at $365 and the 11 yard at $300 are available if you are certain the job is small, but they are only $30 and $95 cheaper and they hold a lot less. How much does a garage cleanout dumpster cost in Kansas City?

Is the 20 yard worth it over the 15 yard for a garage cleanout?
Yes. The 20 yard is $30 more and holds about a pickup load more debris, which is normally the difference between finishing in one haul and paying for a second rental. In fifteen years nobody has told us their dumpster was too big — about four in ten tell us they wish they had gone bigger. Thirty dollars is the cheapest insurance on the job, and the 20 yard takes up the same driveway space as the 15.
Should I get a 30 yard dumpster for a garage cleanout?
If the garage is part of a bigger clear-out — a basement, an attic, a shed, or a whole-property purge — yes. The 30 yard is $475, which is far less than two 20 yard hauls at $395 each. The one requirement is space: it needs 60 to 65 feet of straight driveway clearance to set down.
Can I put paint from my garage in the dumpster?
Not while it is wet. Wet paint, stains, solvents, gasoline and motor oil are all prohibited and need household hazardous waste disposal — Kansas City’s facility is at 4707 Deramus Ave. Fully dried, hardened paint cans are generally acceptable.
Can I throw old tires in a garage cleanout dumpster?
Yes, for $15 per tire. Tell us how many when you order, pay for them in advance, and place them on top of the load rather than burying them. Undisclosed or buried tires are still charged $15 each.
Can I put a refrigerator or freezer in a garage cleanout dumpster?
Appliances containing refrigerant — refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners — cannot go in the dumpster. They need special handling to recover the refrigerant first. Call us and we will point you in the right direction.
How long can I keep a garage cleanout dumpster?
A standard 7-day rental. There is no automatic pickup — the container stays until you call or text to say you are done. If you need longer, extensions are $25 a day or $150 a week on the 11 through 20 yard.
Can you deliver a garage cleanout dumpster the same day?

How much driveway space do I need for a garage cleanout dumpster?
The 11, 15 and 20 yard need roughly 40 to 50 feet of straight clearance to back in — all three share the same 12 by 8 foot footprint, so stepping up to the 20 costs you no extra driveway. The 30 yard needs 60 to 65 feet. We set every container on boards to protect the driveway surface.
