Garage Cleanout Dumpster Rental in Kansas City
A garage cleanout dumpster costs $300 to $475 flat — and most garages fit in the 15 yard at $350.
That price is the whole price: delivery, pickup, disposal and a standard 7-day rental, with no tonnage fees and no fuel surcharge. Alpha Team KC has been dropping roll-offs in Kansas City driveways since 2012. Same-day delivery is often available.

Sizing Guide
Match the Garage to the Container
| Your garage | Size | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Single bay, mostly boxes and bags | 11 yard — $300 | Low walls mean you lift things in rather than over your head |
| Two-car garage, years of accumulation | 15 yard — $350 | The size most Kansas City garage cleanouts actually need |
| Two-car garage plus shelving and furniture | 20 yard — $395 | $45 more than the 15 and it prevents a second haul |
| Garage plus basement, or a full property | 30 yard — $475 | Only if you have 60–65 ft of straight driveway clearance |
Why a Dumpster
Why Rent a Dumpster for a Garage Cleanout?
A garage cleanout generates more waste than regular trash service can handle, and large items usually cannot go out with normal collection at all.
No trips to the landfill
The container comes to you. No loading a truck, no gate fees, no weekend spent driving back and forth.
Bulky items go straight in
Furniture, shelving, old exercise equipment and yard machines that curbside collection will not touch.
You work at your own pace
A standard 7-day rental means you can do it over a weekend or spread it across the week.
Right outside the door
Driveway placement on protection boards, a few steps from where the work is happening.
Pickup when you call
There is no automatic pickup date. The container stays until you tell us you are finished.
You talk to the owner
Call or text and you reach the person who runs the trucks, not a national call centre.
Materials
What Can and Cannot Go In
Most of what comes out of a garage is fine. Garages are also where the tricky stuff hides.
Goes straight in
- Old furniture
- Cardboard boxes and packing debris
- Yard equipment and hand tools
- Household trash and bagged clutter
- Wood and construction debris
- Shelving and storage units
- Toys and sports equipment
- Carpet, padding and flooring
Cannot go in
- Wet paint, stains and solvents
- Gasoline, motor oil and fuel
- Chemicals and pesticides
- Propane tanks
- Car and marine batteries
- Refrigerators, freezers and AC units (refrigerant)
- Asbestos and hazardous materials
- Concrete, brick, dirt, rock and stone
Prohibited items carry an additional charge of $75 per ton, and loads are photographed at the dump.
Tires — accepted for a small fee
$15 per tire, disclosed when you order, paid in advance and placed on top rather than buried. Undisclosed tires are still charged. See tire disposal.
Paint and chemicals
Kansas City’s household hazardous waste facility takes these at 4707 Deramus Ave. Dried-out, fully hardened paint cans are usually fine in the dumpster — wet ones are not.
Heavy material
Old concrete, pavers, brick or a broken-up garage floor need a concrete dumpster, not a standard roll-off.

Questions
Garage Cleanout FAQ
What size dumpster do I need for a garage cleanout?
A 15 yard at $350 handles most Kansas City garage cleanouts, including a full two-car garage. Take the 11 yard at $300 for a single bay or a lighter declutter, and the 20 yard at $395 if the garage is packed or you are rolling it into a larger home project. Text a photo of the garage to 816-759-2881 and we will tell you which one to take.
How much does a garage cleanout dumpster cost in Kansas City?
$300 to $475 flat, depending on size. That covers delivery, pickup, disposal and a standard 7-day rental. There are no tonnage fees, no fuel surcharges and no hidden charges — the price you are quoted is the price you pay.
Can I put paint from my garage in the dumpster?
Not while it is wet. Wet paint, stains, solvents, gasoline and motor oil are all prohibited and need household hazardous waste disposal — Kansas City’s facility is at 4707 Deramus Ave. Fully dried, hardened paint cans are generally acceptable.
Can I throw old tires in a garage cleanout dumpster?
Yes, for $15 per tire. Tell us how many when you order, pay for them in advance, and place them on top of the load rather than burying them. Undisclosed or buried tires are still charged $15 each.
What about my old refrigerator or deep freezer?
Appliances containing refrigerant — refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners — cannot go in the dumpster. They need special handling to recover the refrigerant first. Call us and we will point you in the right direction.
How long do I get to keep it?
A standard 7-day rental. There is no automatic pickup — the container stays until you call or text to say you are done. If you need longer, extensions are $25 a day or $150 a week on the 11 through 20 yard.
Can you deliver the same day?
Often, yes. It depends on truck availability and where you are in the metro, so call early in the day for the best chance. See same-day dumpster rental for details.
How much driveway space do I need?
The 11, 15 and 20 yard need roughly 40 to 50 feet of straight clearance to back in. The 30 yard needs 60 to 65 feet. We set every container on boards to protect the driveway surface.
