What Goes In a Shingle Dumpster — and What Doesn’t
A shingle dumpster is a single-material container. Roofing debris is disposed of differently from household trash, so the load has to stay clean.
✓ What Goes In
Asphalt shingles · Roofing felt and underlayment · Roofing nails · Ridge cap and starter strip · Drip edge and flashing removed with the roof
✗ What Stays Out
Household trash or garbage bags · Concrete, brick, or masonry · Wood, lumber, or decking · Liquids, tar buckets, or sealants · Yard waste · Appliances or furniture

Roofing Types We Cannot Accept
The shingle dumpster is for residential asphalt shingle roofs. Two common roofing types fall outside what we can take.
Commercial Roofing
Flat and low-slope commercial roofing systems — including TPO, EPDM rubber, modified bitumen, built-up gravel roofs, and torch-down — are not accepted in the shingle dumpster. These systems are disposed of under different rules than residential asphalt shingles.
Concrete & Clay Tile Roofing
Concrete roof tile and clay tile are not accepted in the shingle dumpster. Tile is dramatically heavier than asphalt shingles and has to be handled as heavy material — see our concrete dumpster instead.
If you are not certain what is on your roof, call or text us and describe it. We would much rather sort it out before delivery than at pickup.
Fill Level Rules
How Full Can a Shingle Dumpster Be Loaded?
Level with the top of the dumpster — no higher.
Shingles must sit level with the rim. Nothing should stick above the top edge or hang over the sides, because the load has to be tarped and hauled safely on public roads. Overfilled dumpsters that need material removed before pickup cause delays and additional charges. There is no weight limit, but there is a fill line.
Sizing Your Tear-Off
Will One Shingle Dumpster Cover My Roof?
The 20 cubic yard shingle dumpster handles most residential tear-offs.
Most single-family homes between roughly 1,500 and 3,000 square feet fit in one shingle dumpster on a standard single-layer tear-off. Larger roofs, steeper pitches, and multi-layer tear-offs generate considerably more debris and may need a second haul.
The most reliable way to size it is to tell us the approximate square footage of the home, how many layers are coming off, and whether the roof has any dormers or complex sections. We do this every week and can usually tell you in one call whether you need one dumpster or two.
Who We Serve
Shingle Dumpsters for Homeowners & Roofing Contractors
Kansas City Homeowners
If you are replacing your own roof or having one replaced, a shingle dumpster keeps the tear-off off your lawn and driveway. We deliver before the crew starts, you fill it at the pace of the job, and we haul it when the roof is done. One flat price, quoted up front, with no invoice adjustment afterward.
Kansas City Roofing Contractors
Flat-rate pricing makes a roofing bid easier to write, because disposal is a known number instead of an estimate against a scale ticket. We understand crew schedules, deliver on the day you need it, and pick up early when the job finishes ahead of plan. Call or text and most quotes take under two minutes.

FAQ
Shingle Dumpster Rental — Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you call.
How much does a shingle dumpster cost in Kansas City?
$475 flat rate for a 20 cubic yard shingle dumpster. That price includes delivery, your rental period, pickup, and disposal. A one-week extension is $175. Price may vary by zip code.
Is there a weight limit on a shingle dumpster?
No. Alpha Team KC charges a flat rate with no tonnage fees, so there is no per-ton charge and no weight cap on your load. The only limit is the fill line — shingles must stay level with the top of the dumpster.
What can go in a shingle dumpster?
Asphalt shingles, roofing felt and underlayment, roofing nails, ridge cap, starter strip, and flashing removed with the roof. No household trash, wood, concrete, brick, liquids, or yard waste can be mixed in.
Do you accept commercial roofing or tile roofing?
No. The shingle dumpster is for residential asphalt shingle roofs only. Commercial systems such as TPO, EPDM rubber, modified bitumen, built-up gravel, and torch-down are not accepted, and neither are concrete or clay roof tiles. Call or text to discuss options if that is what you are removing.
Will one shingle dumpster hold my whole roof?
Most single-family homes between roughly 1,500 and 3,000 square feet fit in one shingle dumpster on a single-layer tear-off. Multi-layer tear-offs, steeper pitches, and larger roofs may need a second haul. Tell us the square footage and how many layers are coming off and we will confirm.
Can I get same-day shingle dumpster delivery?
Same-day delivery may be available depending on scheduling and inventory, at no extra charge. Call or text 816-759-2881 as early in the day as possible to check availability.
